Negative Thoughts Are Action-Killers

thoughts

Negative thoughts and feelings are a part of life.

They crop in throughout your day and can make you feel down, unmotivated and uninspired.

Negative thoughts are often rooted in fear, self-doubt and worry. We allow these thoughts to turn mole hills into mountains.

The frustrating part is... they're often untrue.

For example you may get an idea you want to act on. You're feeling motivated and excited. Then right before you start...WAM... a negative thought pops up. You start to think of potential problems you may face. You start to think, "what if I fail" or "what if I look stupid" or whatever.

This takes the wind out of your sails and keeps you from starting. These negative thoughts are "action-killers" and you want to learn to handle them.

You're home and you hear a knock at your door...

You walk over to the door and peek out to see who it is.   You don't recognize the person and they look questionable.

Do you open the door and let them in your home?

Unless you have a death wish or like flirting with danger... the answer is "No"!

Well... this is how to treat negative thoughts too.   Once you recognize a negative thought don't let in linger.  Shut the door on the negative thought and move on to thinking about something more positive and productive.
